Macdonald & Cameron Ltd (formerly Gregor Cameron Contracts Ltd) delivers a complete project management consultancy service for new build affordable housing projects. We work alongside our Registered Social Landlord (RSL) clients to take housing development projects from inception to completion.
In the past ten years the company has grown from a one-person operation to having five full time members of staff and has widened its area of operation from Argyll to include Stirlingshire and the Central Belt of Scotland.
Our development consultancy service involves undertaking the role of an RSL’s in-house development team, either to supplement internal staff or to deliver the function completely, reporting directly to senior staff and management boards. We can provide services on a short-term ad hoc basis or can enter into longer-term appointments. We work collectively as an integral member of an RSL’s team, covering all aspects of development work in liaison with housing management and asset management colleagues.
We have experience of working on a varied range of projects, from small four-unit developments on remote islands in the Hebrides to large developments of multi-storey flats in the Central Belt. Some of our larger projects include a 300-unit development at Dunbeg, completed in October 2023, for which we provided both development services and clerk of works services, and a development of 150 units in Dumbarton, completed in 2021.
Experienced in site finding and negotiating land acquisitions, we can assist clients who have unmet housing demand in their area of operation that they are looking to address with a new site. We also have a strong record of being able to achieve a development path for sites with infrastructure, funding or planning constraints that have been obstructive to development, and can assist with land-banked sites that have proved undeliverable to date.
